Catering at the Monaco Grand Prix

Red Radish were delighted to be one of the busiest catering companies at the Monaco Grand Prix again this year! The noise and atmosphere of the GP are an incredible experience, especially from up on the Y.Co  private balconies from where our guests (and chefs) had an awesome view of the track and the super yachts in the port. Is it the altitude or the exhaust fumes which whet the appetite but our food certainly went down a storm? In any case our delicious catering and well organised parties are designed to delight and satisfy, and they certainly did that at all our 2013 champagne fuelled GP events! While carnage ensued down on the track, up high our clients revelled in the opportunity to witness the highs and lows of the racing – the intervention of the safety car allowing for glasses and plates to be recharged with scrumptious morsels without missing a breathtaking moment!

We were not only catering on private terraces in Monte Carlo, but also down on the waterfront at various glamorous parties attended by the F1 teams, their racing drivers and their beautiful entourages, where they celebrated and sipped champagne (not the drivers of course!) whilst getting a taste of our delicious bowl food and fabulous canapés Whilst local boy Nico rode out front leaving the havoc to ensue behind, the party atmosphere prevailed and the celebrations had free rein – glitz, glamour, fine wines, beautiful crockery and glass hire plus mouth watering food all supplied in a first class fashion by the team of hosts and hostesses from Red Radish!

Catering Company in Cannes

The next few weeks get very busy for most Cannes based catering companies as first MIPIM and then MIPTV hit the South of France.  MIPIM, which the organisers bill as the leading international real estate fair, used to be known for its excessive throwing of parties and cocktail receptions, and the drinking of copious amounts of champagne has quietened down a lot since the world property crash, although there are always still enough events to keep many a chef busy preparing everything from gala dinners through to canapé and bowl food receptions. We also often get involved in helping clients find large villas or yachts when they are in Cannes for their corporate events.

MIPTV kicks off at Cannes Palais des festivals (home to the world famous Film Festival) in early April and is one of two Cannes bases events (MIPCOM being the other) where media luvvies from all over the world gather to sell TV and online content.

Being Cannes based and English speaking ensures that Red Radish gets plenty of enquiries and bookings for all the Cannes festivals and we have lots of catered dinner menus and canapé and bowl food lists dotted around our website.

Red Radish were Phenomenal as Caterers at the Electric Picnic Festival

Dear Wayne, Lucy and the Red Radish team,

Where can I start hey? – RED RADISH WERE PHENOMENAL.

I don’t think I can say thank you enough for what you managed to do for us this weekend. Everyone was singing Red-Radish praises throughout the entire festival and I still have comments about the back-stage and VIP catering through now. Not only was the food the best that the guys had ever tasted, but they were so delighted to have such a lovely catering team to look after them.

I have every faith that Red Radish will soon to become a leading festival catering company if you want to because the team were astounded by you already and they’ve been doing festivals, and eating site catering for about 10 years now.

I honestly cannot thank you enough for what you managed to do for us. I have always believed that good food is the core to a successful, energised and happy team, and I don’t know if you noticed, but our team was buzzing throughout the whole weekend thanks to you.

On a personal level, I wanted to thank you for looking after the artists, Chérie, Ben, Tiernan and myself so well. This was highly appreciated and made sure the core team were happy and it made my job 100 x easier to know that the client, Chérie and Ben were fed and being looked after.

I am so sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye on Monday morning. I really wanted to come and give you all a massive hug! Unfortunately, we were working until 5am on site on Sunday evening  working on stock checks and drinks sales etc  I hope that if I am there next year and if you would still like to come back (as long as we haven’t scared you off that is).

I hope you managed to get some rest and if there is anything, ANYTHING I can do in future, please don’t hesitate to ask.

All the best Wayne and Lucy, have a lovely end to your summer and I hope to see you again at Electric Picnic next year.

2013 Carfest North and South dates announced by Chris Evans

Carfest is back! The dates for Carfest North and Carfest South have just been announced live on Radio Two by Chris Evans. Red Radish followers will know how much we enjoyed catering for the crew organised by Brand Events and artists last year and we are even more excited by this years festival and can’t wait to see everyone again. The brain child of Chris Evans, CarFest South will take place from Friday 23rd August to Sunday 25th August at Laverstoke Park Farm whilst Carfest North will kick off a couple of weeks earlier at Oulton Park Race Circuit in Cheshire, with the event taking place from 2nd to 4th August.

It was an absolutely BRILLIANT festival so make sure you get on line at 8am on January 17th to order your tickets. Last years festivals raised nearly £1,000,000 for the BBC Children in Need appeal so as well as being a great day out it is also for a wonderful cause.

Festival Crew Catering Photos – Electric Picnic

Crew, backstage and artist catering at festivals has to be one of the hardest but most rewarding jobs in the world but the team at Red Radish absolutely love every minute of it. These are just a few more photos showing what a great time we had working with the Bacardi bar-tending and artist crew at Electric Picnic in Dublin.

Festival Crew Catering Photos from Electric Picnic 2012

August 2012 took the crew at Red Radish over to Dublin and the world famous Electric Picnic Festival where we were organising the backstage and artist catering for Bacardi. The festival which is the biggest in Ireland (and even UK standards) attracts 30,000 festival goers each day and the team from Capitalize London that booked us were just some of the nicest clients ever. They were also thankfully pretty pleased with our crew catering, service and food. We hope you like the photos.

Our Catering Crew visit the Electric Picnic Festival and get bleeding ears

Despite the noise music definitely one of our favourite festivals of 2012 was the Electric Picnic Festival located in Stradbally Ireland, about 50 miles south of Dublin. We packed up our mobile kitchen and flew down from Gatwick as soon as we had finished Carfest South. At the same time two of our crew drove down in our vans with all the catering equipment. Whilst this Festival was only a quick three day crew and backstage catering project the long hours made it pretty hard work to say the least, although we got through it pretty easily on a diet of great Bacardi Cocktails, dance music and also our own great food.

Due to the lack of hotels we had decided to camp on site and were grateful that the weather remained relatively kind (it was no South of France and a long way from our boutique bed and breakfast near Cannes) though. Our pitch was at least a twenty minute walk from our outside catering kitchen and it certainly made for an interesting stroll as we walked back sober(ish) amongst the drunken revellers and party people.

Electric Picnic is one of the biggest music festivals in Europe and we were charged with looking after the crew and artists at the infamous Casa Bacardi where a team of seemingly always hungry and very talented cocktail bar staff had set up to serve the thousands of thirsty festival goers. The set built by the talented crew from Capitalize London was nothing short of astounding and once again Casa Bacardi always seemed to be at the heart of this great festival.

Our kitchen was just backstage and it has to be said that at times the constant drum and bass did get a little bit LOUD but then I guess the music was not really meant to appeal to a team of ‘slightly elder’ crew, running a backstage catering company. Anyway we absolutely loved being there and the entire crew was so kind and appreciative that it certainly made up for the bass! We are happy to say that the talent and the team at CAPITALIZE London loved us and we have already been booked for Electric Picnic 2013. Needless to say this time we may well be sneaking in a few earplugs. We can’t wait!

Fantastic Festival Catering for Oxfam at CarFest South

I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank you and your catering team for what can only be describe as fantastic food you provided for the OXFAM crew at CarFest South.

Its possible that I may be in touch towards the end of this year or early next to see if you would be interested in quoting for some of our other festivals.

Best wishes

I really can’t recommend the Red Radish team enough!

We had Red Radish come and do the back stage catering at our music festival at Hampton Court Palace. They had to contend with hungry crew, demanding artists and despite my best efforts to sort out quantities, a number of unforeseen extras. However, regardless of what we threw at them, Louise, Wayne and the team were always more than happy to help. The food was always of an excellent standard and the service was warm and friendly. I really can’t recommend the Red Radish team highly enough!

Kind regards

UK Backstage catering at it’s best!

This is what Joe Malik from 24:7 Media and Events had to say about Red Radish when we did the catering and backstage riders for six of his bands (including Razorlight and Texas) at a recent weekend festival.

“Mate, what a legend you are!

What can I say, you, your wife, daughters & whole team were superb this weekend.

I can’t thank you enough for being so flexible, efficient & so dammed nice with it.

Above all your food was spot on & you got my band riders just as asked.

I so hope our paths cross again & we get the chance to work together again really soon.”

Footnote: We have to balance this out and say that this was made slightly easy by the fact that Joe and his gang were the some of the nicest and easiest clients we have had in ages!
