Hog Roast & Barbecue Catering Company in France

Last summer Red Radish received at least half a dozen enquiries from people looking for a traditional hog roast catering company or hog roast rental equipment in France. It seemed the foodie craze that has been sweeping the UK for the last couple of years had finally spread to the south of France and people were really getting into the idea of a caterer organising a BBQ and roasting a hog on a spit for their wedding, party or corporate event. 300 days of Provence sunshine each year made it an even bigger attraction and a sure fire bet that it would not get rained off like in the UK! Only the most dedicated vegetarians will be able to resist the smell and taste of a succulent suckling pig (or a Cochon de Lait or Porcelet as it is called in France) roasting over a charcoal fire-pit in the garden. The pork crispy crackling is one hell of a guilty pleasure after all!

Well never ones to miss out, Red Radish decided we should get in on the act and buy our very own hog-roast equipment. One of our team had a big birthday coming up, we had the perfect venue (that is available for rental) so it seemed like a good time to get in on the act.  Being outdoor party people and purists we decided we wanted to go for the more conventional spit and motor type with cooking over a conventional fire pit of charcoal and oak rather than one of these new fangled stainless steel outdoor ovens on wheels. We were sure they did the job but boy are they ugly. They also detract from the visual impact of a hog slowly turning as it roasts over the open fire. Barbecue and Hog-Roasts

Is there anything better than a relaxed barbeque or traditional hog roast on a gorgeous sunny day in France? Not much comes close, but if you want to enjoy it even more then you could always think about getting Red Radish in to help make sure that you don’t have to worry.
