French Riviera Catering Companies and our story

People often ask about the story of Red Radish and how an English chef and her partner ended up being based in France running one of the most established event management and catering companies on the French Riviera. Apart from our obvious love of Cannes (think Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals), St Tropez (think sexy yachts and showbiz parties) and the rest of the Côte d’Azur (don’t think – just soak up the French Riviera sun, the rosé and the company) it all started back in 2001 when we decided to leave the UK to start a new life in France. As a country France just seemed to have everything to offer and could not only cater for our needs but also those of our crew of five small children.

We had always loved the French Alps having previously lived there for a couple of ski seasons, where as well as skiing we had been organisers/caterers at the occasional small private party, wedding or various receptions. Lucy had also previously worked in the UK as a private chef cooking at intimate dinner parties for friends but we certainly never imagined running a catering company that would end up as organisers of everything from lavish weddings in St Tropez, parties on super yachts and even catering for the crew and artists at music festivals such as Glastonbury and the Electric Picnic in Dublin.

We just love the variation of our business and the clients we meet and ALWAYS not only enjoy but also guarantee exactly the same quality and service for everything we do. Be it a small private dinner for six or an event at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes or Hampton Court Palace in London we take the same pride and care in what we do! Ultimately we are simply a pair of foodies who also love great service. Over a couple of blogs I will endeavour to tell a bit more about the Red Radish story and the journey that lead us to become an established and successful catering company working right across France, the UK and Europe.

Thanks Red Radish. You saved our bacon!

Dearest Wayne + Lucy

We all wanted to send you a special thanks for you complete flexibility and un-ending support with our St Tropez fashion photo shoots for Balmain. You were both so warm and accommodating and a true asset to the team – you saved our bacon with those bacon sandwiches and quick thinking lunches!

It would not have been the same without you, and for that we’re all truly grateful.

Many, many thanks.

Can you send us your address so we can try to send you something by way of thanks.

All the best

Cannes Lions Festival Catering

Inspiring Creativity is at the heart of both Cannes Lions Festival and the chefs at Cannes based catering company Red Radish. The Lions advertising Festival caters for professionals who love to debate, learn and be inspired; it is where the greatest industry honours are handed out; where those pushing creative communications forward are celebrated and hopefully crowned champion. We like to think of ourselves as creative chefs putting together inspirational and imaginative parties which is why we love it when the creatives hit town. Cannes Lions is the favourite festival  of Red Radish, but just please don’t tell the film folk we said so!

This year’s Lions Festival dates are 17 – 23 June 2012 and just like Red Radish it will be based around Cannes and the world famous Palais des Festival.

Crew Catering

We love a nice crew and artist catering event and with London and the UK still buzzing from the Queen’s magnificent Jubilee party and the brilliant concert arranged by ‘surely-soon-to-be-knighted’ organiser and Take That front man Gary Barlow, we are chomping at the bit to get started at our next location which is this years Hampton Court Palace music festival which starts on Thursday and where we will catering from our specially erected Red Radish Marquee for the likes of Frankie Valli and the boys from up the junction, Squeeze. Lucy packed up her catering equipment and flew back to London on Saturday where she has been busy shopping and putting the final touches to her menus and no doubt planning a thousand jobs for me to do.

The festival organisers PWR events in London have been planning this musical feast alongside their countless other festivals and events and we are sure it is going to be even more successful than last years brilliant event. We are looking forward to a few weeks in London where we are intent on making sure that PWR and their crew of technicians and staff are just as well fed as our superstar  and music business clients!
