Focus on Focus: Large-scale festival catering with military precision

Our dedicated team smashed it for another year at one of the most challenging festival catering operations on the circuit.

While managing crew and artist catering across multiple locations is Red Radish’s bread and butter, Focus Festival offers up unique challenges.

Focus is a festival like no other and the effort that goes into our catering operation there deserves to be picked out as a case-study.

A network of several churches, associated with Holy Trinity Brompton, gather annually at the Somerley Estate in Ringwood for a weekend of worship, teaching and community.

We took to the 7000-acre estate for our fourth year of feeding the masses between 25th and 30th July.

Providing amazing food for the HTB staff and visitors from churches across the UK is a job that requires meticulous logistics and super-efficient service.

With each church based in a separate location within the festival and a strict 15 minute window to serve each sitting, it’s large-scale catering with military precision.

Across 27 drop-off points, from one kitchen and using two vehicles; we cooked, packaged up and delivered dinner to thousands of hungry staff and festival-goers.

The first delivery time was at 4pm, the last at 6.45pm, and in that window on one day we delivered a high of 2,692 meals.

Thanks to our brilliant team of chefs, front of house staff, runners and organisers; we were able to deliver fantastic quality food bang on time!
