Finally we have got around to uploading the video of the Red Radish Supper Club shoot for a Television series called Wild Camping which was produced by Mike Fiddler at RoadDog Television Productions. Louise Bird and Karima Mo both looked great on camera whilst the villa made a great film location. A chunk of the organisation for the Cote d’Azur leg of the programme was organised by Red Radish’s Cannes based Wayne Brown who has worked as a fixer on other TV and film productions set in the South of France including a recent viral ad campaign based in St Tropez for Citroen Cars and the launch of the DS5 Star Experience.
Red Radish are throwing open their Chateauneuf doors for yet another great Supperclub and this time it is to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. You can be guaranteed a warm homely welcome as you enjoy some fantastic Irish food and what promises to be a superb afternoon and evening of first class Rugby. The perfect way to have fun and meet some great people even if you don’t like the rugby!
We will kick off at 1:30 with Scotland v Italy followed by the Welsh taking on the French in an attempt to hopefully win a mighty Grand Slam (after Ireland ended France’s 100% Six Nations record by holding them to a 17-17 draw in Paris) , and then the final match of the day as the Irish take on the English to ensure those from The Emerald Isle end up with the perfect Saint Patrick’s Day.
As well as this great menu we will have a big screen showing all three matches, a roaring log fire, a few surprises and hopefully plenty of Guinness too.

This time of the year things are a little quieter and we are grateful therefore to be able to find the time to do the occasional underground supper club. Obviously our last soiree on the beach in Cannes was such a huge success that we were more than a little worried about how we would be able to top it, but fortunately exciting opportunities at Red Radish do seem to crop up frequently and we are more than excited to have managed to somehow wangle our good friend, Canadian sweetheart and sultry songstress Jill Barber to literally sing for her supper at our next bash.
One of Canada’s most beloved performers, Jill sells out venues from coast to coast, whilst winning numerous awards along the way, including two Juno nominations which are Canada’s version of a Grammy). Her fans include Kris Kristofferson, who calls her “a real songwriter, a damn good songwriter” and Josh Ritter, who has toured extensively with Jill. Fellow Countryman Ron Sexsmith, who has written with giants such as Coldplay and Elvis Costello, has become one of her closest collaborators, having co-written two songs on her most recent album, Mischievous Moon.
The date for the supper club and to see Jill perform is the 20th and the venue is somewhere up in the hills behind Cannes. More details available here.
Well what can say….. These are just some of the messages we received after one of our supperclub beach parties in Cannes. We are very grateful to everyone for their kind words and can’t wait to see you all again very soon. x
After the great success of last Friday’s first beach supperclub we thought we had finally better get on with posting some of the great photographs taken by Lorrianne Caouette of BellaMiella Photography. We took to the very crowded public beach in Cannes with what can only be described as a great deal of apprehension and trepidation, not quite knowing what to expect from both the French Sun-worshippers and more worryingly the Cannes Gendarmes.
With an anticipated arrival of 36 guests at 7:30 SHARP (our stupid request!) it was a little unnerving to arrive at 6pm with three car loads of equipment, only to find the beach packed and with barely room for one more large beach towel, never mind a ten metre table and 36 chairs. Whilst there were a few angry words from some of the locals and threats to call the Mayor and police, in general the reaction was just one of bewilderment and surprise as they watched the Red Radish ‘Volunteer’ Swat Team (Thanks Iarla Byrne, Phil Eady and Helen McLeod) spring into very sweaty action. We managed to set up the whole thing in less than an hour although a few of the early arrivals (that will teach you!) were cajoled into helping. Lucy arrived with the FOOD 15 minutes before the first guests and voila we were all set for what we are sure was a truly unique event and at just €25 per person for great food and unlimited wine represented what must be the deal of the summer. All that is left for us to say is thanks to everyone for coming and making it such a very special evening and see you at the next one soon.
Just to say that this Friday’s (16th September) secret beach party is definitely happening and the weather is looking perfect. The venue is a beach close to Cannes (and a train station*) and will be an absolutely perfect setting for what promises to be a great evening with lots of surprises. Numbers are limited to 30 and we are pretty full but could be possibly squeeze in a couple more if you twist our arms. The cost will be €25 per person which will include a great three course supper with drinks. Please contact us by email to confirm and just to make sure that we have all your details. We will also post updates to our Facebook Page so please be sure to make sure you are a fan.
