Canapés and Bowl Food Catering for Cannes Boat Show

The Cannes Boat Show arrives in Cannes this week amid a flurry of set building and marquee companies doing a great job setting the scene for this annual yachting event. Being one of the few local Cannes based catering companies speaking both English and French, Red Radish are already committed to catering for a number of parties and receptions during the five day long festival attended by most of the big names in yachting including UK based companies Sunseeker and Camper & Nicholsons International.

As well as the fully catered parties where we will be providing everything from waiters and waitresses, equipment hire, a DJ and obviously some great canapés and a buffet, there are also a couple of simple receptions where there will be a quick and efficient delivery of our great canapés along, of course, with the obvious obligatory cases of chilled champagne. All in all an exciting few days ahead before we then move on to the Monaco boat show which kicks off on the 19th September2012

The Palais du Festival might not be every one’s architectural ‘cup of tea’ but it has to be said that when the sun is shining and the boats are  bobbing gently on the water there are not many better places to hold an event or reception to promote your luxury products. We chose our French base here in Cannes because we absolutely adore everything about the place and although we are looking to be very busy at this year’s boat show we are still able to help with any last minute deliveries of either food or equipment. Cannes Lions Festival Lunch prepared for Stink.tv

When Advertising companies go to lunch they REALLY go to lunch and the party chosen by London based Stink was certainly no exception as they gathered with their senior partners and very best clients on the lawn of the most exquisite Cannes rental villa. They were in town for the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival and when it came to choosing a caterer for their event they looked no further than Red Radish.

Backstage and Crew Catering at yet another UK Festival – Carfest

After all the excitement of St Tropez and the ‘Made in Chelsea’ TV location shoot we were involved in fixing and catering, Red Radish are now packing our flight cases to leave the sunny French Riviera and heading back to Hampshire in the UK where we will be getting ready to organise all the Crew and artist catering at yet another big UK Green field Festival production. We are pleased to have been booked by one of the biggest event organisers on the European Festival Industry, Brand Events . The team at Brand are reponsible for organising shows like Taste, TopGear Live and scores of  other great productions so it really is a great honour for us to be involved with these guys.
Our Chefs and crew will be feeding  as many as 500 people a day during the peak days of this great new festival and can’t wait for the challenge of doing all this from our own field kitchen and catering marquee. As well as the production team, we will be catering for everyone from ticketing, to security, sound, light, the guys responsible for the TV footage, bands like Razorlight, The Feeling and Texas plus even the great man himself, event organiser and Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans.

Private Party Catering on a Super Yacht in Cannes

Red Radish have been chosen from a long list of French Riviera Caterers to organise the staff, equipment and catering for a private 21st birthday party of the son of the owners of a beautiful 50m yacht currently anchored just outside Cannes. Being Cannes based was a definite advantage for this wonderful family of British-Indians, along with of course the ability to speak English and supply a completely diverse menu choice including lots of delicious Red Radish Canapés, Asian Fusion and imaginative Sushi created on demand by our own on-board chef. As well as the delicious food we will also be organising the sound and lighting equipment for the International DJ who is flying into Cannes just for the party celebrations, plus our usual bevy of beautiful waitresses and a couple of great barmen to add even more flair to this wonderful event.


We have catered for private parties on boats right across the Mediterranean and in all the main ports of Monaco, Saint Tropez, Antibes and Cannes so obviously working on super-yachts is not a new experience to Red Radish but never the less, we are as excited as ever and really can’t wait to help make sure this young man and his friends and family have a party they will remember forever.

Experienced festival caterer, ideal for backstage, bands and crew

Hampton Court Palace Festival kicked off in true style last night as Liza Minnelli and her tour crew wowed the crowd at what has to be one of the most stunning event venue locations in London. Hundreds of guests picniced in the beautiful grounds as they literally prepared to ‘eat to the beat’, and despite the UK weather trying to ruin the party everything went exactly as the planners expected, and the crowd loved every minute right from the very first beat of this long standing London music festival. As well as having to cater for the great crew from PWR Events and their entire production team, Red Radish are also in charge of the artist catering for Ms Minnelli (and the rest of bands and artists) and her entourage at this ten night music extravaganza. Feeding tricky artist can sometimes be a challenge but Liza and her crew knew exactly what they wanted to eat and her Stage Manager, Matt Berman even gave Red Radish a mention in the ‘thank you fax’ he sent to PWR the next morning. Praise like that is hard to beat!

Our specialist mobile kitchen catering marquee sits nestled nicely in the heart of the Royal Palace next to the Royal Tennis Court. Tennis has been played at Hampton Court for almost as long as the Palace has stood there. Present knowledge suggests the first court was built in Tudor times by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 1500’s and it is one of the only courts in the world catering for spectators. We feel very lucky to have been chosen by PWR as the caterer for the crew and artists at this wonderful location and simply cannot wait for tonight’s artist Jools Holland who apparently has a couple of special guests who know EXACTLY what they want to eat!

We just wanted to share this delicious Italian taster menu that Red Radish have been asked to put together for a London based Advertising Agency catered lunch at the 2012 Cannes Lion Festival starting  on June 17th. Chef Lucy has been busy planning and will be cooking this great food for Agency staff and their 20 lucky guests up at a rented castle in Cannes. It promises to be one of the best lunch parties at this year’s #lionsfestival and just one of the many special catering events Red Radish have been involved with organising at the Palais des Festival in Cannes. Red Radish – The best ‘Restaurant’ on the French Riviera.

Was Chef Lucy that mean? Of course she wasn’t and it is safe to say that the clients absolutely loved the food and as they enthused at every dish, Lucy and I marvelled at how easy it was to load the dishwasher as our wonderful private clients sent back eight courses worth of totally empty plates.  The Provençal villa they had rented was magical; the table spectacular and needled to say ‘Chef Lucy’ and Red Radish had come up trumps once again with the catering. Yet more delighted Red Radish clients with the added bonus (for me) that as part a recently implemented new drive (by me!) to keep our cooking standards at the same gastronomically high levels I had managed to enjoy at least a spoonful (or three) of every delicious course and all in my official capacity as Chef’s assistant and taster.


The drive back along the A8, looking out to Cannes was a joy and before we knew it we were back at Villa Aurita (our French Riviera Bed and Breakfast) sipping a glass of our favourite rosé on the terrace from UK owned winery Chateau Léoube. It had been hardwork but we had enjoyed every minute of it. Boy oh boy do I love my job (and Chef Lucy!)

The Joy of Running a Catering Company in Provence

I absolutely LOVE food and the great thing about running a catering company between London and the French Riviera is that Chef Lucy (as she now likes to be called after watching too much Gordon Ramsey!) constantly gets an excuse to cook with the very best ingredients available, whilst I just hang around the kitchen in my capacity as the official ‘Red Radish Taster’. I was therefore obviously delighted when a client looking for a private villa chef recently Googled ‘French Riviera Catering Company’ and ended up contacting Red Radish about creating them a ‘French Taster Menu’ for a birthday party at their beautiful rental villa in St Paul de Vence.


The thought of eating I mean serving such delicacies as Pan-Fried Fois Gras and hand-dived scallops in their shells set my taste buds tingling to almost Philharmonic proportions.  It was as much as I could do to concentrate whilst typing up Lucy’s delicious taster menu as she constantly and rather meanly reminded me not to get too excited because the catering was for a clients birthday party and not actually for me. That’s right; I could choose the wine, walk around the wonderful Forville Market in Cannes picking the best produce money could buy, but I was not actually going to be allowed to sit down and enjoy any of it! Surely she could not be that mean, could she?
