Barbecue and Hog-Roasts

Is there anything better than a relaxed barbeque or traditional hog roast on a gorgeous sunny day in France? Not much comes close, but if you want to enjoy it even more then you could always think about getting Red Radish in to help make sure that you don’t have to worry. From a simple family barbie of the old favourites like marinated steaks and prawns  through to a whole hog-roast or the traditional African Mechoui art of burying and roasting a whole lamb either on a spit over a fire or in a pit in the ground until the succulent meat is tender enough to pull off the bone, our chefs can definitely help. We can even rent you the equipment if you fancy doing it yourself. We will make sure you have all the salads and sauces you need and we will even bring along our own charcoal or gas grills if need be so all you have to do is mingle with your friends and family sharing an ice coldbeer or a nice glass of crisp white wine!

Salads

One of the main pleasures of summer is eating outside and we can think of nothing nicer than tucking into a great salad full of the freshest and healthiest ingredients. Salads can be healthy, filling meals on their own or make perfect accompaniments to main dishes, barbecues and buffets. We have got everything from classics like the Caesar salad which was born at Caesar’s Place in Tijuana, Mexico, on July 4, 1924 when owner Caesar Cardini ran short on ingredients and improvised with what was left in the fridge: romaine leaves, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, a raw egg, Worcestershire sauce and croutons making the world famous dish so popular today, through to our own creations using the most unusual ingredients. Whatever sort of salad you’re after, we’ve got a wondeful selection of salad ideas guaranteed to tickle every taste bud.

Menu in the making

Sorry I have not put up the menu yet, I have had a busy week working in Cannes doing everything from catering to cleaning!  We have got two very beautiful “shabby chic” apartments in Le Suquet Cannes and have had a mad rush to get them ready for movie type people who are renting them from us.  A few teething problems were quickly ironed out and we now have very happy tennants! So happy in fact they have invited us along to the premiere of their new movie showing tonight in Cannes.  So with friends in tow, all dressed up in “glad-rags,” Cannes it will be tonight.

We are keeping everything crossed for the weather next Friday as our favorite place to party is at the end of our garden in Chateuneuf. Wayne, the scene-setter, will be hard at work from Wednesday ordering the staff (photo) around.  I will be putting the final touches to the menu and hopefully will post it tomorrow.  Bye for now and have a great Saturday! x

If your names not down ….

Sorry for falling off the radar but life has been 100 mph lately but the good news is we have another supper party date.  But not just any old supper party it’s during Cannes Film Festival and it’s being filmed!  Weather permitting it will be a candle lit dinner in our garden, maximum 28 people and the dress code will be “dressy!”  Can’t give too many details but sounds like it should be a lot of fun!  The date is going to be Friday 21st May.  I will post the menu as soon as I have written it but in the meantime you would like to come to come just let me know.

Booking’s for next weekend

The bookings have started to come in for next weekend which is great. Please let me know as soon as possible if you would like to book Friday or Saturday.  I have been asked a lot about payment and I know what the Brit’s are like about “doing the right thing!” So I am going to give a guide as people want to know.  So for next weekend guide will be 30 Euros.  It will vary as the cost and hours of cooking vary too.  Can’t wait to get started on this menu, my kind of food!

April 23rd & Saturday 24th

We reckon if this doesn’t get your taste buds going then nothing will! The biggest challenge with the homemade truffles is stopping Wayne and the children eating them all as fast as I can make them!
