Bowl Food Catering and Equipment Hire at Cannes Lions

Bowl foods have for a while been all the rage in London and New York where they make a substantial and stylish alternative to canapés. Now the chefs at established innovative French Riviera catering company Red Radish are bringing them to Cannes and particularly the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. Small but perfectly formed, bowl food dishes make a great balance between canapés and a more formal sit-down dinner or buffet. Our bowl foods are served in great ceramic or glass bowls and are designed to be eaten standing up. They are also guaranteed to make a great talking point for your guests and clients.

As with all our canapés the bowl food menu can be designed and served to fit perfectly with the branding and décor of your event theme or product launch. As one agency ordered “something that goes well with the (hopefully) good weather and the South of France festival vibe”. Never a problem for Red Radish! As well as these tasty bowl food ideas we will also be ‘serving up’ the best waiters, waitresses and glass and equipment hire. See you at this year’s Lions Festival. It is going to be  a busy one for sure!

Everything you need to know about arranging a wedding in France

Arranging a wedding in France can be easy if you find the right wedding planner to help when it comes to arranging your dream wedding.

That is where Red Radish comes in and we can make sure your special day in France will be the happiest day of your lives. Unlike most wedding planners we are actually based in France (although we also work in the UK frequently) and can therefore be sure to be able to answer all your wedding planning questions directly rather than having to calling in a whole bunch of other suppliers, venues and caterers.  As well as being able to help you arrange your wedding we are also a succesful catering company and even have our own great wedding venue nestled in a beautiful village here in the South of France.

There is lots to know and actually legally getting married in France is not so straightforward but we are here to help you overcome every hurdle. : To get married either the bride or groom must have been resident in a in the same village, town or commune in France for a minimum of 40 consecutive days before they can get married. The application for the civil marriage may be made to the Mairie (Town Hall) once this residency has been achieved.

There is lots more wedding information in English here or you can email or call us up for a general chat about the ins and outs of getting married in France. Whatever happens we can help when it comes to arranging your perfect wedding.

A Televised Red Radish Supper Club filmed for mainstream TV

Finally we have got around to uploading the video of the Red Radish Supper Club shoot for a Television series called Wild Camping which was produced by Mike Fiddler at RoadDog Television Productions. Louise Bird and Karima Mo both looked great on camera whilst the villa made a great film location. A chunk of the organisation for the Cote d’Azur leg of the programme was organised by Red Radish’s Cannes based Wayne Brown who has worked as a fixer on other TV and film productions set in the South of France including a recent viral ad campaign based in St Tropez for Citroen Cars and the launch of the DS5 Star Experience.

Artist & Crew Catering at London’s Hampton Court Palace

Red Radish are more than a little delighted to have been chosen as the location caterers to  feed the world famous artists and crew at the 20th anniversary Hampton Court Palace Festival which begins in the UK on the 14th of June.  This year’s brilliant line-up will include the fabulous Liza Minnelli, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, James Morrison, Katie Melua, Jools Holland, Caro Emerald, Squeeze and all of whom will be tucking into some great Red Radish food for the full duration of the set-up plus each night of the concerts.

Catering breakfast, lunch and dinner for huge numbers promises to be very hard work and long days in our mobile kitchen but we absolutely can’t wait to work for the first time with the organisers PWR events who are responsible for some great festivals including London’s Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park which attracted a staggering 10 million visitors last year.

Hampton Court Palace and its beautiful grounds will provide the perfect back-drop for the midsummer evening concerts. As well as all these world-class acts there will be spectacular fireworks and sumptuous dining experiences for guests including picnics by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts and the obligatory Champagne bar by Moet and Chandon.

We will be busy working but there is no reason why you should miss the show, so be sure to order your tickets here. We will just have to listen to it from our catering marquee!

Planning a Shabby-Chic Wedding in Saint Tropez

We are starting to think about planning the exciting wedding in September of a lovely couple currently living in Southern India. The venue will be in an old family Mas just outside St Tropez. There are lots of things to organise and every details of this French Riviera shabby chic marriage promises to be wonderful in every way.  The catering, champagne and wine, photography, flowers, make-up and every tiny detail needs to be arranged to perfection which is why they chose Red Radish

They are looking for a kind of an India-meets-France theme, and the guests will come from India, France and America so are sure to know what is and isn’t authentic. The wedding “ceremony” will be a scavenger hunt/trivia session culminating in the bride and groom’s grandfathers leading the marriage vows.

Red, white and rose wine promises to flow as the guest’s party on down until well after the sun sets on the old port of Saint Tropez. We originally spoke about cooking Dahl, lentils and sambar over an open fire, but their friends in India insisted on one thing: They wanted good French food and where better than at a Red Radish party?

After champagne cocktails and canapés they are dreaming of a sit-down dinner with two or three options. Their brief is something French, something delicious, and (because the groom insists) something cooked on an open flame.

Dessert will be a Tarte Tropezian which is the bride’s ‘favourite dessert EVER’ and where better to tuck into a giant one of these than in St Tropez itself!

The delightful house outside Ramatuelle is not at all equipped to host big parties but that is never a problem to Red Radish as we are used to working in venues with very little catering facilities.  Our chefs often find themselves in the middle of a festival field somewhere so are used to just being organised and taking everything from the tea spoons to the ovens and refrigeration with them.

What the clients can promise though is some beautiful outdoor space, wonderful views and a backdrop that will perfectly suit one of our Shabby Chic ‘Chocolat’ style weddings. It is Lucy’s all time favourite movie (not just because of Johnny Depp!) and we absolutely can’t wait for the big day.

London Festival and Crew Catering

Red Radish are delighted to say that we have been inundated with catering and event planning opportunities for 2012. It could well be caused by the shortage of suppliers due to the London Olympics but no doubt the flurry of work and crew catering opportunities has also been boosted greatly by our reputation as great organisers and planners plus also our wonderful client references which provide testimony to our hearty food and fantastic team of chefs and staff.

As well as working on the Olympic Tree of Light project we have also been approached to send our mobile kitchen to cater for artists, performers and crew (Katie Melua, Squeeze, James Morrison to name but a few) at gigs like London’s Hampton Court Festival, Sparks Will Fly in Hylands Park Chelmsford and the Field Day and AppleCart Festivals in Victoria Park, London which is just a stone’s throw away from the 2012 Olympic Village and centre. It looks like being a very busy summer indeed.

A beautiful Boutique Bed & Breakfast near Cannes

The combination of a beautiful chic typical Provencal villa and our successful catering company based in Cannes (serving not only the UK but the entire South of France and various other far-flung places) has lead to the exciting opening of one of the best value small boutique B & B places on the French Riviera. Everyone knows that the guys at Red Radish are famous for fantastic food and fine hospitality but now you can check yourself in for a few nights luxury at Villa Aurita bed & breakfast. Wonderful relaxation around their very own azur blue swimming pool. Who needs a hotel eh?

In its wonderful location surrounded by picturesque French villages like Grasse, Valbonne, Mougins and St Paul de Vence you are guaranteed to have landed in one of the best kept secrets on the Cote d’Azur. Also just a short drive from the beaches of Cannes, Antibes and Juan les Pins you will be spoilt for choice of things to do on your holiday in the South of France. There is plenty of parking but you do not even really need a car as there are plenty of great options for touring by bus or train.

Back to our Food Ideas

Private Villa Catering & Chef

Over the last ten years Red Radish have met some wonderful people as we have catered and delivered some fantastic food to some beautiful homes on the French Riviera. Quite simply there is not much better than having a great chef cook you up dinner whilst you relax around the pool with friends and family. Your very own bistro at home. It could be catering a simple supper for just six or a large party to celebrate something specially but quite simply if you have gone to all that trouble and expense finding the perfect place then why not look for as many ways possible to enjoy it. Below is a letter we send out to clients which will hopefully give you more of an insight of what is on offer. You can also get some menu ideas here.

“Good Morning,

I hope you do not mind me dropping you a line but at some stage over the last few months you contacted us regards renting our beautiful home in the South of France. It could even be that you have actually booked the villa.

My reason for writing is that my partner Lucy is a chef and as well as running events and parties on the French Riviera we also do quite a lot of private villa catering during the summer. It is nice having dinner round your pool with friends or family and  is usually much less expensive than going out plus you do not have to worry about babysitters, taxis and paying extortionate prices for a bottle of great wine. You can see our catering website at www.red-radish.com and we are happy to do ‘one-off’ suppers or a package during your holiday. We can also arrange delivered meals or provisioning which can be really helpful and especially great for arrival day.

If you have time then you might like to read this reference which is just one of many on our website.

Lastly, please do not hesitate to contact me before or during your trip if you need any help or free advice regards your visit whatsoever. We have lived here for over ten years and as well as organising events, we also work in film and TV location fixing so know pretty much everything and everyone there is to know and would be only to pleased to share our love of this wonderful region with you.

Bon Weekend!

Wayne and Lucy”
