Keepin’ it green – Glastonbury 2017

We love catering for all kinds of events, but our sweet spot is feeding the crew and artists backstage at all the greatest music festivals in the UK. Many of the crew chose to eat in the Radish marquee, but we also offer take out – our consumables are all environmentally friendly and biodegradable and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

The festival we’ve been doing the longest is Glastonbury, and this year we had three super kitchens on site to feed our delicious grub to the hungry folks of Glasto. Over four weeks we served up nearly 14,000 meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. A combination of healthy salads, and hearty fry ups, naughty chocolate brownies, and of course the famous Red Radish Sunday roast were just some of the menu items that tickled peoples taste buds. We pride ourselves on our fresh, quality and varied food and despite the ‘great’ British weather our nearly 50 strong team kept everyone smiling and well fed.

Over at Radish HQ we have been working hard to reduce our carbon footprint and we encourage both our staff and clients to reduce, reuse, recycle. Luckily the team at Glastonbury have this motto at their core so it’s always a pleasure to work with them. At the festival in 2017 we only used gorgeous local produce sourced from the on-site wholesale market made up of community suppliers. Not only did it taste amazing but it reduced the number of food miles, and contributed to the local economy.
